Software bundle for characterization of long laser line foci.

Control Window serves mainly for the process control of image acquisition and measurements as well as for the configuration of the connected hardware such as camera and actuators. Using image correction one can generate correction matrices and set the applicable corrections of the raw image data. The settings for LSD and motor controllers as well as TCP/IP connections are controlled from this window. All the parameters pertaining to the scanning and assembly of a long laser line focus are entered in the Scan tab.

2D Visualization displays the current acquired image or a loaded image file. Selection of ROI, display of horizontal and vertical cross sections, display of calculated beam diameters, a distance tool for direct measurement, 16 different false color tables, i.e. linear and RGB for the evaluation of homogenized profiles.

Cross Sections for the display and evaluation of cross sections through the image, with the intensity curve being displayed in dependence of the position on the sensor. There are four different ways to position a cross section and display it in a separate window: horizontal and vertical cross section (Cross Section tools) as well as a cross section with flexible angle and position as well as its perpendicular (Beam Section tools). The cross sections can be activated via the Tools menu in the 2D-Visualization window.

3D Visualisierung Mit dem 3D Visualisation Fenster kann das Helligkeitsprofil einer Bildaufnahme von verschiedenen Perspektiven in Echtzeit betrachtet werden. Die Ansicht der Fläche kann mit Hilfe der Maus beliebig verändert und vergrößert werden.

Display for displaying a summary of the current data and its statistics. Accordingly the format can be individually customized. One example is the definition of pass/fail criteria which will then cause the values in the table to be highlighted in corresponding colors. The displayed table can be saved as text file.

Progression View for the observation of temporal variations of measured values. Values of the same type are displayed in one combined graph. Statistical information about the displayed values are listed on the left. The name of each measured value is highlighted in the corresponding data trace's color.

Pointing Stability shows the temporal progression of the beam's centroid position. These positions are saved and analyzed statistically. The statistical conditions for the determination of the beam positioning stability can be chosen in conformity to ISO 11670 (2003). The tool contains a simple graphical display of the measured values and a data section with three tabs for display of the Analysis and further settings.

Histogram - In this window the frequency distribution of the intensities in the current picture is displayed. The abscissa can be scaled in percent or using number values. The graphical display can be saved as image file (bmp, jpg, png) or as CSV (Comma Separated Values) file.

2D-Arithmetic - This tool allows for further analysis. Addition of, stubtraction of, multiplication by or division by beam profile images or numeric values can be performed on a reference system.

With the Power / Energy Display Tool the connected camera can be employed as an intensity sensor for the power of laser beams or the energy of laser pulses. The display of the measured data is determined automatically depending on the camera mode of continuous or pulsed acquisition.
